A numbers of the bands and solo competitiors will travel northward and westward for additional competitions and we wish them the best of luck!
The four highland games were all good events. We saw a change in venue and date for the Southeast games, both of which were well received. This was the second year for the Heart of Florida games, formerly the Zephryhills games, and once again a good event. We did see some rain. . . OK, quite a bit of rain. But a little rain makes for some fine Scottish weather and the games went on as planned.
This was the first year grade four bands were required to play a mini MSR and it seems the bands certainly rose to the challenge. It made for a more interesting competition and raised the bar from previous years. A very welcomed change!
The run for the Florida Cup was a close race for both grades. We expect next year the competition will be even more intense and will certainly be a great 2013 season.
We would like to greatly thank all the people who attended and participated in the games this season. We look forward to seeing all next year!
